Matter of Opinion... WM 21 - Battle of The Titans

October 29th, 2004

Talk about a colossal match?! This reminds me of Big John Studd and Andre The Giant. Two huge power houses ready to tear the house down.

It all begins before the Royal Rumble. Heidenreich cuts a promo, stating he is the most feared man in the whole of the WWE, not to mention the biggest. Heidenreich states that he is going to eliminate each and every man in his path and win the Royal Rumble match and head to Wrestlemania to finally be king of the hill. Heidenreich says nobody can stop him.

Big Show’s music hits and the big monster heads towards the ring. Heidenreich is irate and two go nose to nose. A hoard of referee’s rush the ring and separate the two men. Heidenreich is forced to the back leaving Big Show in the ring with the fans approval.

On the Smackdown! before the Royal Rumble. Big Show comes out and has a chair in hand. He sits in the middle of the ring and declares that this is how it will be after he clears 30 men over the top rope. Show claims this is his ring and it’s going to take a mass of men to take him out. Heidenreich and Heyman come to stage. Heyman says that right now, he has a number of men to take care of Big Show. With that, some local guys, about 6 or 7 come down and Show tosses all of them over the top rope. Heidenreich has seen enough and he rushes to ring. Show and Heidenreich get into a slugfest. They are trying to throw each other over the top rope………..but the rope snaps due to the size and weight of the huge superstars. Both men fall to the floor and go at each other again. Refs and officials come out to break it up. What will happen this Sunday on PPV if the top rope breaks? How will these monsters be contained?

Royal Rumble time, Big Show is number three and he tosses out numbers one and two. Number four is Heidenreich. Both big men go at it. When number five comes out, he doesn’t even dare get in the ring. Eventually, both men spill through the second rope and fight through the crowd. They are not eliminated! The Royal Rumble match continues and camera’s follow both men backstage as they brawl through the locker rooms, catering area, etc. Toward the end of the Royal Rumble match, both Show and Heidenreich make their way back to the ring. They get in the ring and try to eliminate each other, but the remaining superstars toss both of them over and they are eliminated. Heidenreich and Show brawl all the way to the back.

On the post Rumble Smackdown!, Big Show comes out and challenges Heidenreich. Teddy Long comes out and states that the match will happen at Wrestlemania 21 and it will be a no DQ match.

At Wrestlemania, Big Show and Heidenreich get it on. These guys brawl all over the arena and take it out to the parking lot where they destroy everything in site. They get on top of a truck and Show choke slams Heidenreich through the roof. Heidenreich crawls out and these men are beyond psycho. Paul Heyman comes out to try to stop the carnage and Big Show tosses him into a dumpster. Both men brawl all the way to the ring, breaking down doors in the hallways, etc. They finally get to the ring (there would obviously be some pin attempts in between all the chaos backstage). Big Show finally hits Heidenreich with the ring bell, knocking out Heidenreich. Big Show gets the pin and is victorious in the Battle of the Titans.

This can then lead to a re-match at the next PPV in a cage match where the score will be evened when Heidenreich rips of the cage door to escape. Seeing how badly they have beaten each other, both men team up to form a tag team – ‘Titans’.
